Karen Dyk

Karen was born and raised in the Churchill/Amsterdam community. She attended Manhattan Christian school from kindergarten through twelveth grade and graduated in 1979.  She spent two years at Dordt College in Iowa.  When she turned 21 she moved to Seattle, WA. and lived there for 24 years.

It was in this city that God equipped her to develop an understanding and a heart for children and youth.  This began by living with a grandmother from Mississippi who had a 7 year old granddaughter. She learned all about children from this 7 year old, who is now in her 20's.

Karen also worked as a intern children and youth leader at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission. She was involved in Child Evangelism Fellowship in many different ways and served as a youth leader in a church. Karen has been back in the area for 6 years.  This is her 5th year at Amsterdam school.  She is a Title I aide and is very thankful to be helping children for another year.
